Bridesmaids’ Nails: Elegant & Modest Styles for LDS Weddings

Your hands are going to be in a lot of pictures on the big day—holding bouquets, linking arms, hugging the bride, and maybe even helping straighten her train. That’s why having well-groomed, tasteful nails is a must for every bridesmaid in an LDS wedding.

But how do you choose the perfect look that’s both stylish and spiritually appropriate?

Let’s talk bridal party nail tips that are timeless, modest, and picture-perfect.

Clean, Simple, and Elegant

When choosing your nail color, err on the side of simplicity. This isn’t the time for bright neon shades or long stiletto tips. Remember, you’re supporting the sacredness of a temple wedding—so your nails should reflect that reverence.

Soft pinks, creamy neutrals, pale peaches, or even a gentle French manicure are all beautiful, safe choices. They’re flattering in photos, go with any bridesmaid dress color, and let the focus stay on the bride (where it belongs).

What About Matching?

It’s a good idea to check in with the bride about her vision. Some brides may request that all their bridesmaids wear the same nail polish shade—or at least stay within a certain palette. Others are happy to let each girl choose her own favorite soft tone.

If she hasn’t mentioned anything yet, a quick text or gentle ask will help show your support and avoid any surprises.

Manicure Options

Professional salon? At-home polish party? Both can work beautifully.

If budget allows, getting manicures together can be a fun bonding activity before the wedding—just like hair or makeup appointments. But if that’s not in the plan, you can still do a lovely job at home with a simple file, buff, polish, and top coat.

Just make sure to do your nails the night before, not the morning of, to avoid chips or smudges before the ceremony.

Keep It Temple Appropriate

LDS bridesmaids represent something special. Not only are you standing in support of your friend or sister—you’re standing as a reflection of the beauty and modesty we hold dear.

So while glitter, rhinestones, or themed nail art can be fun for other occasions, a modest, graceful look is the perfect fit for a temple wedding.

A Little Love Goes a Long Way

You don’t have to spend a fortune to make your nails look beautiful—just a little care and intentionality. Trim and file neatly, push back cuticles, moisturize your hands, and choose a flattering polish.

Your hands will be holding more than just flowers that day. They’ll be offering support, comfort, joy, and love.
